Blessings in Disguise.

When you hear the word cancer, our heartbeat quickens and our fears rush in. It's a natural response to a dreaded disease. As we begin to muddle through the emotions and endure through the process of accepting what is, the blessings begin to show up in the most obscure ways. Little things become huge and gratitude becomes the order of the day. If you have yet escaped battling the "C" word with yourself or loved ones, my heart is with you. If you are like others of us, we find "God Winks" daily in prayers and healing devotions, a good doctor's report, an unexpected phone call from an old friend or a dose of humor to carry us into tomorrow. Being able to say at the end of each day, "I've had a good day" means so much when we are thankful for the little things and are able to spend precious moments with the ones we love. As the "Reason for the Season" approaches fast and furious and we all make out lists and check them twice, don't forget to look for the "Blessings in Disguise" we are handed daily in our doses of life.

Blessings and Thanksgiving to all. Lori

A Seasonal Update

Hello to all that have found my little spot on "As the Web World Turns". I know there's not been a whole lot of action on my part as far as the biz goes but if you scratch the surface of things, there are underlying currents flowing freely. I'm excited as I continue to create and update products for the web-store. I've turned to painting as a creative outlet for me during this season and have enjoyed the time spent with brush in hand and canvas in the forefront. Days continues to pass as I'm often reminded how important a balanced, well nourished life really is. I'll be exhibiting art in my first official show this weekend. It's an exciting, unexpected twist to a chain of events that has led me to a very gratifying part of my life. The photo is a canvas I did this past weekend entitled "Cotton High" that will be shown at the Southern Harvest Festival in Donalsonville, GA this Saturday. Until we meet again,
Blessings, Lori

Up, Up, and Away as We Start to Play.

Today marks the first of many new things. The first day the website has been live..The first day I've actually taught myself to blog and the list goes on and on. I hope that this is a pleasurable experience for all as I learn and grow; watching a dream unfold as we speak..or as I type.
The day started out dreary and cloudy as I thought of crawling back in bed to sleep the afternoon away. As the day unwound I found myself actually viewing lorisholiday.com
live for the first time. A vision in January of a web based business featuring designs from "inspiration above" danced in my head, had been launched.
As a young girl, we (my sisters and I) loved Barbie dolls. It would take us hours and hours to set up to play. Dressing Barbie and Ken, getting the playhouse furnished just right and all the other tedious jobs that "Playing Barbie" entailed was an all day affair. After the stage was set for us to play, I was tired and had lost interest. Not that I had even "played" yet. There is point to this story. As the website is near completion except for the details of uploading product which is a main ingredient in this production, it is now time to play after we have just about finished setting up. Am I up for the challenge? Stay tuned and see...............
