For I KNOW...

"For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a Hope." Jeremiah 29:14

What a day to reflect on this exciting scripture as I savor the words and truly BELIEVE in what is being promised...Have a blessed day and  WHEN times seem difficult, remember the KNOWING!

New Beginnings all Over the Place..Now What?

This is a preview of my new beginnings...Can't you tell?

It seems this season is full of new beginnings for me, my family, my business, my new place of worship, my new "empty nest" at home and the list goes on and on...I know it's not all about me but it does affect the way I plan my days, weeks, weekends, evenings and so forth. I love the thought of living in the moment and for the most part I do but my weekly work schedule will take me back to The Bus Station in Colquitt, GA http://www.thebusstationgallery.blogspot.com/ with fresh ideas, new design and lots of lovin' to finish out the third and fourth quarters of 2010.  Now if you take a look at my house at the moment, you may be able to tell that there's not been a whole lot of attention from the "domestic diva fairy" that sometimes stops by our home. Here are a few shots for you to see how a "stay at home for the summer designer in between vacations, two daughters starting college, son fininshing law school (living with us the month of July), daughter starting new job after graduation, attending longest yard sale on 127 corridor, trip to China, and anything else that popped up for the moment's" house looks as she prepares for the new beginnings that are right here, right now..

Kitchen Table with candle holder creations in the works..

Dining Room Extravaganza with Jewelry Making on the Table

Organization at it's BEST!

Last but not least...my transitional laundry on the bed.

PJ's calling my name....

Will have to do this tomorrow. Been to Athens and back to move daughter #3 into apartment and want to post pics but I just got done eating Mexican Food and my pants are too tight and my pj's are calling my name. Lots to say, but sleep and rest is top priority. New beginnings are in store for this old gal and her brood. Goodnight Moon!

LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! Means KEEP! KEEP! KEEP!.

I have been in Panama City Beach the past couple of days, spending time with my daughters and trying to catch up on some much needed rest from our trip last week on the 127 Yard Sale (i'm getting there). Anyway I have lots of new finds and new ideas to transform some "trash to treasure". A couple of weeks ago, I started making the Belt Buckles with the vintage beads and baubles that I find around and so after realizing that I wanted to have one of my own to wear, I created a personal buckle that I knew I wouldn't part with. I found all the little trinkets and treasures that pile up in your jewelry drawer and just sit there lifeless for years and years. You don't want to throw away or give away so they just lie dormant in the dark. So this buckle has been worn proudly, first to Livi's one day, and then on the first day scavaging (is that a word?) well you know what I mean, on the 127 corridor yard sale as it's maiden voyage. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE so it's a keeper. Take a look
My Grandmother's Broach in the middle with her earring in the right corner..A camp treasure (dogwood sterling ring top (left corner) high school senior key, sterling earring charm my hubby gave me when we were dating one year for Christmas, a fly fishing pin I purchased in Pennsylvania flea market in the 80's, my daughter's baby ring (with turquoise, loved it back then too), metal cross, sorority lavelier, and I filled in with freshwater pearls and vintage baubles and beads..

A little bit closer view...Now my keepsakes have come out of hiding and lovin' their new life!

Rock Star in the Mountains - 127 Yard Sale 2010

The past few days have been action packed as we  left for the 127 yard sale..Friend and fellow Junkee Antiquer drove until 3:00 A.M. Wednesday morning as I convinced him at 12 Midnight that if he drank a Rock Star it would keep him going for another hour or so. THREE hours later we made it to Sweet Water, Tennessee and had a short three hours of sleep before we rose and shone at 6:00 am to make our our way to the almost border of Ohio to begin the search for treasures...My first purchase for the day  were vintage jewels to use with my belt buckles and necklaces...and then a concrete pig...bottles to use for christmas decor...buttons....more jewels...shabby table...wicker table....and the list goes on and on....I had more plastic bags in the back of the expedition than I do in my pantry after a grocery shopping episode..Enjoy some of the pics that I captured along the way..

Friends Don't Let Friends Yard Sale Alone

We are packing up and getting ready to head north for the hills of GA, and Tennessee...It's Tuesday afternoon and I've made my mind up to take the plunge and hit the trail with friends to attend the Longest Yard Sale (google it)..I'll be posting as I go or maybe not but have lots of excitement built up as I woke at 3:30 A.M. and barely made it back to sleep...What kind of friend would I be if I let my friends Yard Sale alone?

Junkin' Road Trip USA 2010

A first for me as I take off tomorrow to the Longest Yard Sale..This should be a trip to remember...I'm tagging along with two of my fellow junkers as we travel the roads  up through Kentucky and Ohio to work our way down. This promises to be a non-stop adventure filled with heavy duty negotiations, hagglings and million dollar deals. Not to mention junk, antiques, jewels, vintage and everything else that makes my heart want to burst with JOY!!!I'll be posting along the week if I can get my paws on a computer otherwise I'll check with you on Friday when I return. I'm showing some new photos of the "extreme makeover" that took place last week at the The Bus Station - Gallery of Sorts http://www.thebusstationnews.blogspot.com/ .
