It's Fall, Y'all

Isn't it though?

Well the first day of autumn came and went last week. The temperatures didn't reflect much of a seasonal sort of day but the air is dry and the farmers continue to harvest the crops like no tomorrow. Peanut season is in full swing and cotton pickin' will follow close behind.. We, at The Bus Station in Colquitt, GA are gearing up for Swamp Gravey season that begins this Thursday and will follow every weekend through the month of October.http://www.swampgravey.com/ Check it out..The retailers love this time of year and again in the spring when buses of tourists pour into the area to take in a little local community theater, fine dining and local shopping. Pictures below show some of our new items and "not so new" items that we have rounded up here lately...

Too many irons in the fire?

This seems to be a common feeling these days..Every where I turn, there's a new opportunity waiting to pounce. Am I attracting this or is someone trying to tell me something? And whose fault is it really? I know...I know...I know. Now that my husband and I are empty nesters,  it seems that my time is filling to the brim and then some. I had an unexpected meeting, somewhat, this morning with a group of  young entrepreneurs from Bainbridge, GA. They were doing a presentation on a NEW product and so I sat and listened while my A.D.D. mind started racing as I got so enthused, knowing good and well that I had as much on my plate, like a "hungry man's at the dinner table." All I could imagine was how I was
going to approach my husband with this new and exciting product; who by the way already thinks I'm a lot A.D.D. and insane for the most part with my creative notions. Well after the meeting,I began to wait on customers in The Bus Station. I began looking around to see all the ideas that WERE and still ARE exciting to me...

New Beginnings all Over the Place..Now What?

This is a preview of my new beginnings...Can't you tell?

It seems this season is full of new beginnings for me, my family, my business, my new place of worship, my new "empty nest" at home and the list goes on and on...I know it's not all about me but it does affect the way I plan my days, weeks, weekends, evenings and so forth. I love the thought of living in the moment and for the most part I do but my weekly work schedule will take me back to The Bus Station in Colquitt, GA http://www.thebusstationgallery.blogspot.com/ with fresh ideas, new design and lots of lovin' to finish out the third and fourth quarters of 2010.  Now if you take a look at my house at the moment, you may be able to tell that there's not been a whole lot of attention from the "domestic diva fairy" that sometimes stops by our home. Here are a few shots for you to see how a "stay at home for the summer designer in between vacations, two daughters starting college, son fininshing law school (living with us the month of July), daughter starting new job after graduation, attending longest yard sale on 127 corridor, trip to China, and anything else that popped up for the moment's" house looks as she prepares for the new beginnings that are right here, right now..

Organization at it's BEST!

Last but not least...my transitional laundry on the bed.

Not your ordinary Yard Sale..

I'm busy this end of the week getting ready to clean up and clear out. We are having a Yard Sale at The Bus Station (Colquitt, GA). If you don't know by now, this is our retail establishment. There should be all kinds of goodies and assorted wares. I'll post pictures of course,  as the show unveils. Stay tuned as I try to stay on task with this madness.

Dog Days of Summer... Junkin' at it's Finest!

Roger taking a breather after a hard day's work.

Well it was well worth the day of our junkin' trip to L.A. (lower alabama) I picked up a few treasures that will begin  the recycling ring this week. I will take a trip over to Livi's Marketplace http://www.liviandcompany.wordpress.com/ and dispense of some of the things and also to The Bus Station in Colquitt, GA where we are getting serious with a new store "set" for the upcoming Fall and Christmas season. Lot's of new merchandise coming in over there with new artwork and recycled goods from me.
Cherub wall hanging that will get whitewashed and then a wood box frame that I will turn into a shadow box with some sort of artwork inside. Should be interesting.
Set of shutters I'll use as a back drop at The Bus Station.

Set of Vintage Cannister from the 1950's..

Check back and see how my treasures evolve. Oh by the way, my vintage baubles and beads belt buckle sold (few posts earlier) so I've reloaded and have a new western flair "baubles and beads" belt buckle.Stay tuned for the latest....
